Burns injuries deteriorate rapidly without correct initial management — particularly in children, where body surface area calculations are different and the risk of fluid loss is greater. We carry burns equipment as standard for every bonfire event booking, not as an optional add-on. Sparkler burns, flash burns, and contact burns from bonfire debris are the most commonly treated injuries at these events. Eye injuries from firework fragments are less common but often serious — early irrigation and protective management on site significantly improves outcomes.

For events over 500, an ambulance crew is advisable. For events over 1,500 — particularly at enclosed sites — we recommend a two-tier response: a roving crew and a dedicated treatment point. We assess your specific event and recommend the appropriate level, and we put that recommendation in writing for your insurance and licensing documentation.
